HARRIETSTOWN — A child from Saranac Lake was injured March 20 in a one-car accident.
Shortly before 6:20 p.m., Barbara A. Simonson, 66, of Saranac Lake was driving on Route 86 near Manning Hill Road when she became distracted, turned the wheel of the vehicle to the right and struck a snow bank on the east shoulder of the road, with her vehicle also damaging guide wires and posts before falling down an embankment into a driveway below, State Police said.
Passenger Anna Lopez, 7, was taken to Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake for treatment of a minor head abrasion, police said.
Simonson was ticketed for driving over hazard markings and having an uninspected motor vehicle.
