ROUSES POINT — A Champlain man was charged Wednesday with felony assault.
Robert R. Tetreault, 59, was charged with second-degree assault (injuring a person 65 or older), a felony, after he assaulted a 70-year-old Rouses Point man outside his home, State Police said.
Tetreault went to the man’s residence on Clinton Street in Rouses Point and was told by the homeowner to leave the property, police said.
Tetreault pushed the man down, causing him to hit his head on the pavement and scrape his elbow, police said.
The alleged victim was taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh for treatment of a cut to his right elbow, an abrasion to his right shoulder and swelling and a cut to the back of his head, police said.
Tetreault was arraigned in Chazy Town Court and he was released from custody after posting $2,500 cash bail.
He is due back in court on April 15.
