PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh woman was charged Sunday with possession of stolen property after a man’s wheelchair was reported stolen.
On Sunday, a Plattsburgh man who requires a wheelchair for transportation told Plattsburgh City Police he left his black-and-blue-colored GTi wheelchair on the front steps of a residence on Cornelia Street, said Plattsburgh City Police Lt. Scott Beebie.
When he returned a short time later, he found his wheelchair was missing.
Two City Police officers found Dominique Giroux, 20, in possession of the wheelchair at Express Lane on Broad Street, Beebie said.
The wheelchair is valued at $3,755, Beebie said.
Giroux was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony.
She was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court and will appear at a later date to face the charges against her.
