DANNEMORA — A Clinton Correctional inmate was charged with two felonies Friday after allegedly assaulting a correction officer.
On March 18, 2011, Amjad Alqam, 36, punched a correction officer, secured a baton and struck him, according to Chazy-based State Police.
Alqam was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony.
He was arraigned before Clinton County Judge Kevin Ryan and returned to the custody of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
