Police Log: July 11, 2013 — Felony arrest

---- — MALONE — A Mexican citizen is being held in Franklin County Jail on $100,000 bail after being indicted for allegedly having someone else’s identification documents.

Francisco Carbajal, 35, who had been living in Lowville, pleaded not guilty to a grand-jury indictment Monday that charged him with failure to signal and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

He was reportedly pulled over by police in the Village of Tupper Lake on Jan. 8 and allegedly produced a Social Security card and a permanent-resident card that belonged to someone else, according to the Franklin County District Attorney’s Office.

Carbajal also allegedly had $15,000 in cash on him when he was stopped.

He was arraigned before Franklin County Court Judge Robert G. Main Jr. and sent back to County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 insurance bond.

His next court date is a conference scheduled for July 25.

Carbajal, whose defense attorney is Peter Dumas of Malone, has been in custody since his arrest in January.
