PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh woman was charged with burglary March 10 in connection with the alleged theft of prescription medication from a woman for whom she was caring.
The case was first reported to Plattsburgh City Police in February, Plattsburgh City Police said.
A family had reported that hydrocodone and Percocet pills were missing from the home of a 94-year-old relative, police said.
Tiffany Moore, the woman’s home health aid, was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
The 34-year-old had unlawfully entered the home and taken an entire prescription’s worth of Lyrica, about $400 worth of pills, police said.
It was discovered that Moore had replaced the hydrocodone pills she took with Tylenol, police said.
Moore was arraigned and taken to Clinton County Jail and was released March 12 by order of the court, according to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.
