BEEKMANTOWN — A Plattsburgh juvenile was charged March 5 with assault and menacing.
During a fight at a residence on Durand Road in the Town of Beekmantown at around 7:30 p.m., a 15-year-old male grabbed a kitchen knife and the victim attempted to prevent the teen from hurting anyone by restraining him on the floor, police said.
With his fists, the juvenile struck the victim multiple times in the head and face and tried to attack him with the knife, police said.
The victim sustained a cut near his eye and a cut on his right hand, police said.
The teen that attacked him was charged with second-degree assault, a felony; second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
The juvenile was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Clinton County Family Court.
