LAKE PLACID — A Lake Placid man was charged with attempted burglary June 5.
While on patrol, Lake Placid Police saw Brock A. Helper, 22, trying to enter a local business unlawfully, according to a news release from the Lake Placid Police Department. Subsequent investigation revealed that Helper had stolen a key to the building and had intended to tamper with the owner’s property once inside the business, police said.
Helper was arrested at 3:07 a.m. and charged with third-degree attempted burglary, a felony; petit larceny, a misdemeanor; and third-degree attempted criminal tampering, a misdemeanor.
Helper was arraigned and sent to Essex County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.
