PLATTSBURGH — A Peru man was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine Thursday.
Plattsburgh-based State Police arrested Michael A. Richards, 26, at 308 Allen Hill Road in the Town of AuSable on Thursday afternoon, according to a State Police blotter entry.
Richards’ arrest stems from an investigation that police say led them to believe he was making meth at his residence at 206 Cedar St. in Plattsburgh.
Police allegedly found him with meth precursors and drug paraphernalia.
Richards was charged with third-degree meth manufacturing, a felony; second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia (scales), a misdemeanor; and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
He was arraigned in Plattsburgh Town Court and sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
Richards remained in the custody of the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department Saturday.
No further information was available Saturday.
