PLATTSBURGH — A Mooers man was arrested on grand larceny charges Sept. 24. Richard C. Rinn, 38, allegedly shoplifted two televisions from Wal-Mart in Plattsburgh at about 3:45 p.m., Plattsburgh-based State Police said. Rinn allegedly told police that one of the boxes he took from the store was empty and that he only stole one TV, a Sony. He was arrested by police at his residence at 19 Gokey Road in Mooers at 8:30 p.m. that day. A person in possession of the Sony TV returned in to Wal-Mart once he or she became aware it was stolen property, police said. Rinn was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny of property valued at more than $1,000, a felony. He was released on an appearance ticket and was due in the Town of Plattsburgh Court at 4 p.m. Sept. 27.
