PLATTSBURGH — A father and son were charged in April in connection with an alleged gun theft.
Chad M. Provost, 22, allegedly stole a gun from his grandmother’s house where he was staying, Plattsburgh-based State Police said.
Provost then sold the gun to an individual who called police, police said.
Then Provost and his father, Terry L. Provost, 48, went and took the gun back from the person Chad originally sold it to, police said.
They did not take it forcibly, police said.
Chad was arrested April 4 and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony.
Terry was arrested April 21 and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon (firearm), a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon with a previous conviction, a misdemeanor.
No further information was available Wednesday.
