Police Log: May 1, 2013 — Felony arrest

---- — PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was charged with criminal contempt and stalking Tuesday.

Daniel Roeser, 24, of Plattsburgh allegedly violated a stay-away order issued by Plattsburgh City Court on four occasions, said Plattsburgh City Police Lt. Scott Beebie.

The order was put in place after a domestic incident, Beebie said.

The alleged violations happened over the course of several weeks, he said.

Roeser allegedly saw the protected woman in a business and followed her from business to business, Beebie said.

He also allegedly sent a text message, a request for contact approval on Skype and another electronic message was sent on his behalf through a third party to the woman, he said.

Roeser was arrested at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday on Broad Street.

He was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, for allegedly violating the stay-away order. He was also charged with third-degree stalking since the alleged harassment happened over an extended period of time.

Roeser was arraigned before Judge John F. Niles in Plattsburgh City Court Tuesday evening.
