PORT HENRY — One person was hurt when three vehicles collided in front of the Port Henry Stewart’s Shop Monday.
The Essex County Sheriff’s Department reported that Jeffrey Teriele, 48, of Tupper Lake was driving south on Main Street in Port Henry at about noon when he came upon Kristina Carr, 31, of Moriah stopped to make a left turn onto Rice Lane. Teriele couldn’t stop in time and he struck Carr’s vehicle in the rear, then went into the northbound lane where he hit a northbound livestock truck driven by Joseph Baker, 57, of North Clarendon, Vt., forcing the truck onto the lawn at Stewart’s.
Baker was taken to Moses-Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga by Moriah Ambulance Squad, where he was treated for a head injury and released.
Sgt. Al Leon investigated, and issued traffic tickets to Teriele for following too closely and failure to keep right.
