PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was charged with felony drunken driving and driving without a license, also a felony, Thursday.
Ricky Vanvalkenburg, 40, was observed squealing his tires at two places on Court Street, which initiated a traffic stop, Plattsburgh City Police said.
Through the course of the interview, he was found to be intoxicated, with an open container in the vehicle, police said.
Vanvalkenburg was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, both felonies. Tickets were also issued for an unsafe start, having an open container of alcohol, possessing another person’s license, failing to surrender his license, and having expired insurance, police said.
He was arraigned in the City of Plattsburgh Court and was sent to county jail with no bail.
