---- — PLATTSBURGH — A pedestrian was injured in a crosswalk accident Tuesday, according to City Police.
Carla Kowtun, 36, of Plattsburgh, was waiting to cross. One car stopped to allow her to do so, while according to a witness, police said, another car did not stop, and struck Kowtun.
The driver who allegedly struck the pedestrian, Kevin Keane, 26, of Watervliet, said that he did not see her, police reported.
Keane was ticketed for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Kowtun suffered from bruising and swelling to her right hip and elbow, and a possible broken toe on her right foot, police said. She was transported to CVPH Medical Center, where she was treated and released.
