Tupper man faces felony charges

---- — TUPPER LAKE — A Tupper Lake man is charged with assaulting a disabled resident of Sunmount Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.

Police arrested Robert M. Sachatelli-Velez, 28, following an investigation into an incident that allegedly occurred on Jan. 28.

He was charged with endangering an incompetent person and third-degree assault, both misdemeanors, and two counts of first-degree falsifying a business record, which is a felony.

The alleged victim is a 48-year-old resident at Sunmount. No information was available about whether Sachatelli-Velez works at the facility.

In a news release, police said he was arraigned in Santa Clara Town Court in front of Town Justice Michelle Garcia and released after posting $400 cash bail. 

He was ordered to reappear in the Tupper Lake Town Court at 4 p.m. March 20.
