PERU — One person was injured in a one-car accident Oct. 23.
Shortly before 2:37 p.m., Zachary A. Cross, 19, was traveling south on Dashnaw Road near Bear Swamp Road in the Town of Peru, on his way to respond to a call with the Peru Volunteer Fire Department in his personal vehicle, when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road due to driving at an unsafe speed, Plattsburgh-based State Police said.
Cross’s car left the west shoulder of the road, overturned and came to rest in a ditch.
His blue emergency roof light on his car was turned on at the time of the accident, police said.
No further information was available Friday.
