---- — PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was charged with burglary and petit larceny Aug. 19.
Dustin A. Provost, 28, was taken out of Clinton County Jail and was arrested at the State Police barracks in Plattsburgh on charges of second-degree burglary, a felony, and two counts of petit larceny, a misdemeanor, according to Lewis-based State Police.
According to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, Provost has been incarcerated in the Clinton County Jail since Aug. 14 when City Police brought him there.
State Police said Plattsburgh City Police arrested Provost on a warrant before he was charged with burglary Aug. 19.
The charges stem from an Aug. 13 incident that started when Provost asked two women to use the phone in each of their hotel rooms at America’s Best Value Inn on Booth Drive in Plattsburgh, police said.
The women agreed but after Provost left, they discovered money, credit cards, ATM cards and Paypal cards were missing from their rooms, police said.
