PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was charged Thursday with grand larceny and four misdemeanors.
John S. Hunt, 37, was allegedly driving a vehicle that was reported stolen from the Town of Plattsburgh when he crashed it on April 2, according to a news release from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
Hunt was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony; third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle, a misdemeanor; leaving the scene of a personal-injury accident, a misdemeanor; third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor; failure to report an accident, a misdemeanor; speed not reasonable and prudent, a violation; passing a red light, a violation, and moving from lane unsafely, a violation.
He was arraigned in Plattsburgh Town Court and sent to Clinton County Jail without bail.
Hunt will reappear in court at a later date.
The Sheriff’s Department said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
