CONSTABLE — A Moira man was injured in an accident Monday.
Randy L. Harte, 54, of Constable told State Police that while he was backing out of the yard of 15902 Route 30, his foot slipped off the brake and onto the gas peddle, causing his car to strike a pile of scrap wood, Malone-based State Police said.
Harte continued to drive backward, striking the front tire of an ATV, causing the front frame to bend up onto the residence Bilco doors, police said.
Stephen R. Simmonds, 49, of Moira told police that he was struck in the right leg by the driver’s side of Harte’s car bumper, police said.
Simmonds left the accident site before State Police arrived and declined to receive medical attention, saying he had suffered only bruises.
No tickets were issued.
