---- — PLATTSBURGH — Two Hopewell Junction residents were arrested in connection with an alleged criminal impersonation and drug possession incident.
Shortly before 11:18 a.m. Jan. 8, a white Volvo traveling eastbound on Route 3 in the Town of Plattsburgh allegedly swerved into the opposite lane and almost struck a State Police patrol car head-on, according to Plattsburgh-based State Police.
The trooper issued a traffic stop and was told by the driver that he did not have a license or other identification, police said.
The man told the trooper his name was Christian Green. That name did not match records in the trooper’s computer but the description of a secondary name, Christopher J. Green, 21, matched the appearance of the driver, police said.
The trooper informed Christopher that providing a false name would lead to an arrest and Christopher again provided the false name, police said.
He was placed into custody at 1:46 p.m. so his identity could be confirmed, police said.
Christopher was charged with second-degree criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor, and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle with more than three suspensions, a misdemeanor. He was also charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license, moving from a lane unsafely and illegal signaling, all infractions.
He was arraigned in Plattsburgh Town Court and was released from custody after providing $500 cash bail, police said.
Christopher was scheduled to reappear in court Jan. 15.
Christopher’s passenger, Christina J. Green, 43, was found to be in possession of oxycodone pills, hydrocodone, Xanax, four fennel pain relief patches and two unknown drugs, police said.
She was arrested that day at 4:19 p.m. and was charged with one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a narcotic drug, a felony, and three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
Christina was arraigned in Plattsburgh Town Court and released on her own recognizance to reappear Jan. 15.
