PHILADELPHIA — A Churubusco man was arrested on a felony drug charge early Wednesday morning.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department reported Scott J. LeClair, 48, of 183 Looby Road, Churubusco, was stopped for allegedly driving 45 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone at 1:13 a.m. Subsequent investigation revealed he was allegedly in possession of rubbing alcohol, lye from drain cleaner, cold packs, Coleman fuel, lithium batteries, a hair dryer, a mason jar with residue, tubing, a small blender, filters and other materials for allegedly making methamphetamine.
LeClair is also accused of providing sheriff’s deputies with his brother’s name and date of birth in an attempt to prevent revelation that his his license was revoked.
He was charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, a Class B felony. He was also charged with false impersonation, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding.
LeClair was arraigned in LeRay Town Court and is scheduled to reappear at a later date.
