PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was arrested Thursday on criminal mischief charges.
John L. Lawliss, 25, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and third-degree criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor.
On Thursday night, Plattsburgh City Police were called to an apartment on Durand Street to respond to an alleged domestic dispute, Plattsburgh City Police Lt. Scott Beebie said.
Lawliss had gone to the residence to visit his ex-girlfriend and allegedly forced his way into the apartment, damaging a wooden door, Beebie said.
Lawliss was arraigned before Plattsburgh City Court Judge Mark Rogers Friday morning.
He is being held without bail at Clinton County Jail, according to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.
His court date was not available.
