---- — PLATTSBURGH — At least three people were injured Thursday after a Plattsburgh woman’s vehicle crossed the Northway to the opposite lane of travel, police said.

Matthew Rougier, 31, of West Chazy, who said he witnessed the accident, gave State Police the following account: Carole Mathon, 41, of Boucherville, Quebec was driving northbound on Interstate 87 shortly before 8:30 p.m., when a car driven by Jenna Proctor, 29, of Plattsburgh that was traveling in the southbound lane drove into the right shoulder, crossed over the median and the northbound lanes of I-87, striking the east guide rail while on the northbound side before crossing back over the northbound lanes and striking Mathon’s vehicle head-on, Plattsburgh-based State Police said.

Proctor told police she “blacked out” while driving home and denied taking any drugs or alcohol, police said.

She did not show signs of impairment, police said.

Proctor was issued six traffic tickets: failure to keep right, moving from a lane unsafely, driving the wrong way on a divided highway, driving on the median of a divided highway, driving on the shoulder, crossing hazard markings and improperly accessing a controlled highway.

No further information was available from police Friday.

A patient care coordinator at CVPH Medical Center said Proctor, Mathon and Mathon’s passenger Martin Proiette, 42, of Boucherville were all treated and released from the hospital.
