Motorcycle accident kills driver

HARRIETSTOWN — A motorcyclist was killed after driving off the road and being ejected from the vehicle.

State Police received a report of a personal-injury accident at 1:10 p.m. on State Route 30 near the intersection of County Route 45, according to a New York State Police press release.

Preliminary investigation by Tupper Lake-based State Police indicates the operator of the motorcycle was traveling north when he drove off the east shoulder and was ejected from the vehicle.

The operator, a New York state resident, was transported to Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake where he was pronounced dead.

The operator’s information is being withheld pending notification of his family.
