PERU — A Peru man was charged with criminal mischief and menacing Tuesday.
Christopher W. Besaw, 18, menaced two men with a hammer at an address on Peasleeville Road in Peru and threatened to harm them, police said in a news release.
Besaw swung the hammer at a vehicle both men were in and struck the front passenger’s side quarter panel, making a large dent in the car, police said.
He was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony; third-degree menacing, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
Besaw was arraigned in Peru Town Court and sent to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond.
