KEESEVILLE — a fire destroyed an abandoned home here Saturday night.
Keeseville Volunteer Fire Department received word of the blaze at 29 Clinton St. at 11:30 p.m.
Keeseville Fire Chief David Perky said flames were visible at the two-story structure when he arrived.
His department received mutual aid from Peru Volunteer Fire Department, and AuSable Forks Volunteer Fire Department stood by.
Crews returned to to the scene Sunday morning to battle a small rekindle, Perky said.
Though the structure was a single-family home, he noted, no one was living there at the time of the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
