PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was arrested Feb. 8 for allegedly stealing checks from his mother and making them out to himself.
Dean M. Linsley, 55, allegedly stole 10 checks from his mother’s checkbook while she was in the hospital, Plattsburgh-based State Police said.
Linsley allegedly wrote the checks out to himself for a total of $539.56, police said.
He forged his mother’s signature on the checks, police said.
When police arrested Linsley, he was found to be in possession of 2.7 grams of oxycontin, police said.
Linsley was charged with 10 counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument, a felony; one count of petit larceny, a misdemeanor, and one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
He was arraigned in Schuyler Falls Town Court on Feb. 8 and sent to Clinton County Jail on $500 cash or $1,000 bond.
Linsley will appear in Plattsburgh Town Court to face the charges.
