SCHUYLER FALLS — A Plattsburgh woman was charged with forgery and identity theft Aug. 9.
In 2008 and 2009, Kellie K. Lathrop, 36, allegedly filled out several applications for students loans and forged the signature of a co-signer and included personal information about that person on the applications, Plattsburgh-based State Police said.
As a result of Lathrop’s alleged actions, the person whose signature was forged now has poor credit, police said.
Lathrop was charged with second-degree forgery and first-degree identity theft, both felonies.
She was arraigned in Peru Town Court and released to reappear Aug. 27.
