PLATTSBURGH — An Ellenburg man was charged with larceny after allegedly stealing items from the local Wal-Mart store, Plattsburgh-based State Police said.
According to police, Elijah L Viars walked out of the store without paying for about $1,200 worth of electronics including DVDs and stereo equipment.
Police arrested him on State Route 11 at about 1:25 p.m. on Thursday. Viars was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.
He was arraigned in the Town of Plattsburgh and sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $6,000 cash or $12,000 bond. He is scheduled to reappear in court on Aug. 12.
