Police Log: Jan. 4, 2014 — Public-assistance request

MASSENA — State Police are requesting the public’s assistance in recovering a stolen tractor. 

According to State Police, the tractor is a 1988-1990 Kubota from Nicholville. Although the tractor was orange, it could have been repainted. There are no model decals on the hood. It has a 4-foot loader/bucket on the front. 

The theft occurred early in December, State Police reported, adding that it may have been sold or delivered to an unsuspecting buyer.

State Police said that the suspect was operating a white, 2005 Nissan Titan pick-up and would have been towing a small, white utility trailer with aluminum fenders.  The white utility trailer may have sustained a flat tire, on the driver’s side during transport Dec. 5, 2013, said State Police. The suspect may have purchased a used car tire and received assistance repairing the tire from an unknown, automotive repair shop employee, added State Police.
