PLATTSBURGH—Downed power lines resulted in the closure of part of Cumberland Avenue for about an hour on Saturday afternoon, said Plattsburgh City Police.
Police believed snow falling off the roof of a building owned by Georgia Pacific led to the power lines collapsing. Street lighting may have been affected, but it was believed that residences were not affected by power outages.
The incident took place at approximately 3:40 p.m.
The Municipal Lighting Department fixed the power lines, and the road was re-opened in about an hour.
