FELONY ARRESTS

LAKE PLACID — A Lake Placid man was arrested Monday on a felony warrant issued in Florida.

On Monday evening, Lake Placid Police arrested Michael R. Fogg, 32, after they were made aware of the aggravated battery warrant issued in Key West, Fla.

Fogg was arraigned in Lake Placid Village Court and send to Essex County Jail where he is awaiting extradition to Florida.

SARANAC LAKE — A Saranac Lake man was charged Sunday with violating the terms of his probation.

James Gibson Sr., 45, was arrested that just before 7:20 p.m. that evening after he allegedly violated the terms of his probation, a felony, according to a news release from the Saranac Lake Police Department.

Gibson was sent to Franklin County Jail and was later arraigned in Franklin County Court.

BENCH WARRANT ARRESTS

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was arrested May 17 on a bench warrant when he allegedly failed to pay court mandated fines.

Michael D. Slavin, 58, was originally charged with a felony in 2009, according to the Plattsburgh Town Court.

He was detained by the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police on a unrelated incident and further investigation revealed the outstanding warrant for his arrest, according to a news release from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.

Slavin was taken into custody by Clinton County Sheriff’s Deputies and was arraigned in Plattsburgh Town Court.

He was sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $250 cash or $500 bond.

PERSONAL-INJURY ACCIDENTS

TUPPER LAKE — A Tupper Lake man was injured in a motorcycle accident June 14.

Shortly before 2:36 p.m., Edward E. Thompson, 50, of Tupper Lake, was driving a motorcycle westbound on Dugal Road in the Town of Tupper Lake when he lost control of the vehicle as he was rounding a curve in the road, according to Tupper Lake-based State Police.

The motorcycle exited the roadway and overturned on a grass-covered shoulder, partially ejecting Thompson from the vehicle, police said.
