DANNEMORA — An inmate at Clinton Correctional facility was charged with possession of prison contraband.

Chason Alston, 25, was found with a razor-blade-type weapon, Chazy-based State Police said.

The incident was reported to State Police at 1:05 p.m. June 17, according to a State Police blotter entry.

He was charged with first-degree possession of prison contraband, a felony.

No further information was available.

DANNEMORA — An inmate at Clinton Correctional Facility was found in possession of a weapon, according to State Police.

Ramiel Harris, 26, was charged with first-degree possession of dangerous contraband in prison.

The incident was reported to police at 11:26 a.m. June 17, according to a State Police blotter entry.

DANNEMORA — A Clinton County Correctional Facility inmate was found with a weapon Monday, according to reports from State Police.

Gabriel Brown, 24, was charged with first-degree possession of prison contraband, a felony.

The incident was reported to police at 12:51 p.m. June 17, according to a State Police blotter entry.

WILMINGTON — A Wilmington woman was charged with felony drunken driving June 15.

Lynnette L. Modesty-Patterson, 47, was arrested after Wilmington-based State Police responded to a car off the roadway on State Route 86 shortly after 9:23 p.m., Lewis-based State Police said.

Modesty-Patterson was charged with DWI with a previous conviction in the past 10 years, a felony, and operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent, a felony due Modesty-Patterson’s previous conviction.

She was arraigned in Wilmington Town Court and sent to Essex County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.

PERSONAL-INJURY ACCIDENTS

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh woman was injured in a two-car accident June 19.

At about 5:29 p.m., John Yaniro, 75, of Jay was traveling east on Cornelia Street near Draper Avenue when he became distracted while a utility worker was directing traffic, Plattsburgh City Police said.

The worker gave Yaniro a signal to stop and he crashed into a vehicle parked in the westbound lane occupied by Cheryl Dodd, 51, of Plattsburgh, police said.

Dodd was sent to CVPH Medical Center after she complained of leg pain, police said.

Yaniro was ticketed for failure to keep right.

LEWIS — Two people were injured following a two-car accident June 13.

Herbert Farkas, 61, of Cote Saint-Luc, Quebec was driving a gray 2008 Honda CRV south on Interstate 87 in the Town of Lewis when he drove onto the shoulder of the roadway, striking a Department of Transportation vehicle that was parked alongside the road with an orange sign directing vehicles away from the car, Ray Brook-based State Police said.

Farkas was taken to CVPH Medical Center for treatment, police said.

Micheal Cadoret, 43, who was operating the Department of Transportation vehicle, was taken to Elizabethtown Community Hospital for treatment, police said.

Farkas was issued three citations: disobeying a traffic control device, speed not reasonable and prudent, and failure to keep right.

CHAZY — One person was injured in a two-car accident June 11.

Shortly before 8:19 a.m., Marina Purisic, 35, of Rouses Point was traveling southbound on Interstate 87 near Exit 41 in the Town of Chazy when a vehicle driven by Clifford E. Goddard, 72, of Verdun, Quebec struck her car from behind, Plattsburgh-based State Police said.

No further information was available.

SCHUYLER FALLS — One person was injured in a one-car accident June 8.

Shortly before 8:09 p.m., Ted J. Gordon, 36, of Morrisonville was traveling southwest on Kent Falls Road in the Town of Schuyler Falls when a deer entered the roadway from the south shoulder of the road, Plattsburgh-based State Police said.

Gordon swerved to avoid hitting the animal and his vehicle exited the south side of the roadway and struck a tree, police said.

PERU — A Keeseville man was charged June 2 with drunken driving and drug possession after he was injured in a one-car accident.

Following a car accident shortly before 5:05 p.m. in the Town of Peru, Zachary C. Sloan, 22, told police he “ran off the road in front of a deer,” Plattsburgh-based State Police said.

The trooper understood that to mean that a deer had run out into the road in front of Sloan’s vehicle, police said.

Police said Sloan had told Peru Fire Chief Brian Westover that he had been drinking mixed drinks composed of Jack Daniel’s whiskey and Coca-Cola.

Police found Sloan in possession of 10 yellow 5 mg clonazepam pills, police said.

He was taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh for treatment of his injuries, which were minor, police said.

Sloan was later discharged from the hospital against the recommendation of medical staff and was arrested by troopers at CVPH, police said.

He was charged with DWI first offense, a misdemeanor; seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on the highway, an infraction; operating an unregistered vehicle, an infraction; failure to notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of an address change, an infraction; failure to keep right in a two-lane road, an infraction; driving left of pavement markings, an infraction; and moving from a lane unsafely, an infraction.

He was arraigned in Peru Town Court before Justice James Kirby and was sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond.

State Police are awaiting test results from blood that was taken from Sloan at CVPH that was sent to Albany for testing, police said.
