SARANAC LAKE — A Saranac Lake man was charged with weapon possession and breathing obstruction Friday.
Christopher R. Michael, 35, was arrested following an investigation into a domestic complaint, the Saranac Lake Police Department said in a news release.
Michael allegedly choked someone during a dispute, police said.
Police learned he illegally possessed a handgun and had been previously convicted of a crime, making that possession a felony, police said.
Michael was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and criminal obstruction of breathing, a misdemeanor.
He was arraigned in Saranac Lake Village Court and released after he posted $2,000 cash bail, police said.
The court issued an order of protection, directing Michael to have no contact with the victim, police said.
