BEEKMANTOWN — A West Chazy woman was charged with aggravated drunken driving after her car crashed, State Police said.
Tia H. Arzola, 37, was charged Dec. 14, 2013 with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child younger than 16 in the vehicle, a felony,
Arzola was ticketed for speed unreasonable, moving from lane unsafely, open container of alcohol and unregistered motor vehicle.
Troopers arrived to the accident site at 11:05 p.m.
They determined her gray 2011 Toyota Highlander was traveling north on Ron Cathy Road in Beekmantown when Arzole lost control of her vehicle and it went off the east shoulder of the roadway, striking a utility pole, police said.
The vehicle came to rest facing south in a field, police said.
Arzola’s 5-year-old daughter was riding in the back seat of the SUV at the time of the crash, but she was not injured, police said.
Cristobal Arzola, 39, also a back seat passenger, was not injured, police said.
Arzola was arrested after failing field sobriety tests at the State Police barracks in Plattsburgh, police said.
A breath sample showed her blood-alcohol content to be .08, police said.
She was issued a court appearance ticket.
