MALONE — Those involved in a two-car head-on accident Friday suffered minor injuries, Malone-based State Police said.
Richard L. Dafoe, 37, of Russell, N.Y. was driving a 2001 Subaru north on Route 51 when his vehicle crossed over the center line and and struck a 2004 Pontiac driven by Michelle L. Grimshaw, 33, of Malone, who was traveling south, State Police said in a news release.
The crash happened near the intersection of Route 51 and Route 37 in Malone, police said.
Two boys aged 9 and 10 were passengers in Grimshaw’s vehicle, police said.
Troop B Public Information Officer Trooper Jennifer Fleishman said police could not release the names of the passengers in Grimshaw’s vehicle because of their age.
Police responded to the accident at about 6:45 a.m., police said.
Occupants of both cars were taken to Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone for treatment, police said.
Dafoe was ticketed for unsafe speed and no seat belt.
