Police Log: Jan. 30, 2014. — Barn fire

FORT COVINGTON — A barn was a complete loss at 12 Derouchie Road in Fort Covington Wednesday morning.

The Fort Covington Fire Department was dispatched at 5:46 a.m.

“It was a fully involved barn fire at Derouchie Road,” said Fort Covington Fire Chief Tony Leroux.

“We called in Mutual Aid from Bombay, Westville, Hogansburg, Constable, Moira and Bangor.”

The barn contained no animals, and the Fort Covington Fire Department was back in the station at 10:20 a.m.

“The firemen did a great job considering the weather conditions, being in the cold and everything,” Leroux said.

“Franklin County Cause and Origin were there for fire investigation. It’s still under investigation.”
