Police Log: July 14, 2014 — Personal-injury accident

MALONE — Two people were injured in a Route 11 accident Saturday.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m. Bangor resident James McElwain, 65, had slowed to a stop behind a vehicle turning left into a driveway on State Route 11 in Malone, facing west.

According to police, Adam Dishaw, 17, of Winthrop, who was driving west in his 2004 Buick Rendezvous on State Route 11, did not slow down in time and rear-ended McElwain’s 2013 Ford Fusion.

McElwain and a passenger, Marjorie Decker, were transported to Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone for complaints of pain.

Both were treated and later released.

The vehicle turning left was not involved in the accident.

Dishaw was issued a ticket for following too closely.

Both involved vehicles were towed from the scene.
