SARANAC LAKE — Kevin J. Shiels, 53, of Saranac Lake was arrested at 11:45 p.m. Saturday following a complaint that he had allegedly intentionally restricted another person’s breathing by choking them.
He then allegedly attempted to keep them from calling the police by disrupting the phone call, violating an order of protection between the two individuals.
Shiels was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, fourth-degree criminal mischief and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. He was arraigned in Saranac Lake Village Court and remanded to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
