---- — The four other motorists with reported injuries have all been released following the accident that killed John L. Phaneuf of Plattsburgh on Friday.
Officials at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital confirmed that Richard Wray of Chazy and Lisa Yando of Malone were both treated for unspecified injuries, and have been released from CVPH.
Wai Kit Au, of Kanata, Ontario, and Jedediah Hoppe of Malone were treated at the accident site, but were not transported to CVPH, according to the hospital spokesperson. Initial reports had said that all four had been transported to CVPH.
The three-car accident occurred at about 1:35 p.m. Friday when a pickup truck being operated by Phaneuf, with Wray as a passenger, allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign on Jersey Swamp Road at the intersection with State Route 190.
Phaneuf’s vehicle entered the intersection, and was struck by a northbound vehicle operated by Au, and then by a southbound vehicle operated by Hoppe. Yando was a passenger in Hoppe’s vehicle.
Route 190 was closed for several hours while the accident was being investigated, and traffic was detoured to side roads.
The accident is being investigated by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, with assistance from the New York State Police accident reconstruction unit, as well as the Clinton County District Attorney’s office.
