PERU — A 15-year-old was charged with burglary July 24.
Police received a report last month that a mobile home on Sullivan Road had been burglarized and some money had been taken from the residence, Plattsburgh-based State Police said.
A couple days later, the homeowner found a weed cutter that was formerly in a shed leaning against the porch of the home, police said.
Police investigation determined that a juvenile who lives on Fuller Road in the Town of AuSable had broken into the mobile home four times and taken about $435 from the home, police said.
The burglaries occurred near June 16, police said.
When the young man was questioned by his mother about the weed cutter, he allegedly lied to her and she told him to return it to the property where he got it from, police said.
The teen was charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree burglary, both felonies.
He was released on an appearance ticket for Family Court.
