AUSABLE — A Peru man was arrested Saturday for drunken driving with a passenger younger than 17, police said.
At about 9 p.m., a trooper saw a black 1996 Ford Ranger stopped on the shoulder of Clintonville Road in the Town of AuSable, State Police said in a news release.
The trooper stopped to check on the welfare of the vehicle’s occupants and found Hemingway and his 14-year-old son in the pickup truck, police said.
Hemingway’s blood-alcohol content was determined to be .18 percent, police said.
He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a passenger younger than 16, a felony, police said.
Hemingway was also ticketed for unsafe tires and tinted windows, police said.
He was arraigned in Peru Town Court and he was released on his own recognizance to reappear in AuSable Town Court today.
