Police Log: Dec. 24, 2012 — Personal-injury accident

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh woman was injured in a two-car accident near the intersection of Brinkerhoff and Wells streets at about 10 a.m. Friday.

According to Plattsburgh City Police, the parties involved were Kayla M. Collins, 26, of Plattsburgh, driving a 2000 Chevrolet, and Todd Estes, 35, also of Plattsburgh, driving a 2010 Toyota pickup truck.

Collins told police she was eastbound on Brinkerhoff when Estes turned onto Brinkerhoff and the right front of his pickup truck struck the left rear of her vehicle. Estes told police that Collins cut in front of him causing the left rear of her vehicle to hit the right front of his vehicle.

In either case, Collins’s vehicle spun nearly 180 degrees following the collision and struck a tree. Collins was transported to CVPH Medical Center with complaints of neck and wrist pain. No tickets were issued because police were unable to make a determination at the scene as to which account was accurate.
