CONDITION UPDATE

AUSABLE — A Plattsburgh woman involved in a one-car accident Sept. 12 in the Town of AuSable has been discharged from Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington, Vt., according to hospital officials.

Elizabeth M. Ford, 27, lost control of her vehicle due to an unsafe front passenger tire and unreasonable speed, according to police. The vehicle struck a tree and overturned, partially ejecting Ford, pinning her under the passenger side of the vehicle, Plattsburgh-based State Police said.

Ford was ticketed for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, driving with no license, failure to reduce speed, failure to keep right, unsafe tires and no seatbelt, all infractions.

FELONY ARRESTS

TICONDEROGA — A Ticonderoga man was charged with felony criminal mischief.

John R. Stice, 23, caused over $250 of damage to a car and was arrested for criminal mischief in the third degree, a class E felony, Ticonderoga police said.

Stice was released on an appearance ticket and is to reappear in court at a later date, police said.

No further information about the incident was available.

PLATTSBURGH — A Chazy man was arrested for felony drunken driving Thursday.

At about 8:48 p.m., officers witnessed a Ford Explorer sideswiping another police car while traveling south at a high rate of speed on Margaret Street.

The driver, John M. Martin, 26, then entered the northbound lane, heading towards the police car that witnessed the first action. Martin missed the second car, and police initiated a traffic stop, Plattsburgh City Police said.

Martin was charged with driving while intoxicated, a felony; reckless driving, a misdemeanor; and failure to keep right, unsafe lane change, unreasonable speed, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and consumption of alcoholic beverages while driving, all infractions, police said.

He was held overnight in jail and was arraigned the next morning in Plattsburgh City Court, to reappear at a later date.
