PLATTSBURGH — Four people were injured in a two-car accident Wednesday.
At 5:23 p.m., Linwood J. Latney, 61, of Plattsburgh driving a 2004 Kia westbound on Route 22 toward Route 374 in the Town of Plattsburgh when his vehicle struck the rear end of a 2002 Dodge driven by Amy Dubrey-Wilson, 51, of Lyon Mountain, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
The crash started a chain reaction.
The force of the crash pushed Dubrey-Wilson’s car into a 2009 Subaru driven by June Dufrane, 67, of Merrill, and Dufrane’s car the Sheriff’s Department said.
Then Dufrane’s vehicle hit the rear of a 2013 Ford driven by Stephen Connors, 39, of Malone, police said.
Latney, Dubrey-Wilson, Dufrane and Derek Fagan, 48, of Plattsburgh, a passenger in Latney’s car, were taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, police said.
Connors did not require transport to the hospital, police said.
Latney was ticketed for following too closely.
The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, police said.
