---- — PLATTSBURGH — The cause of a fire that destroyed a mobile home July 19 remains under investigation.

No one was injured in the blaze.

The Keeseville Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a storage trailer at about 3 p.m. on Hollywood Avenue, Keeseville Fire Chief David Perky said.

“It was on the ground before we got there,” he said.

A neighbor reported the fire to authorities, Perky said.

The resident of a mobile home within the same trailer park owns the trailer and was using it like a garage to store snow blowers, heaters and other items, he said.

“There was nobody living there,” Perky said.

The owner does not have insurance on the structure, the chief said.

The exact address of the fire was not available Wednesday and it was unknown how much the items in the trailer were valued at.

Providing mutual aid to Keeseville were fire departments from Willsboro, Peru and AuSable.

It took the approximately 30 firefighters at the mobile home about two-and-a-half hours to extinguish the fire, Perky said.

Perky said the Keeseville Volunteer Fire Department was back in service by 6 p.m. before a thunderstorm that knocked down trees and power lines in the North Country whipped through the area.
