SARANAC — Six locals were arrested in February and March connection with an alleged burglary and the theft of a 4-wheeler.
The original report was made to State Police just before 9:28 a.m. on July 15, 2013 when homeowners reported a burglary at their seasonal camp, State Police said.
Peanuts, microwave popcorn and root beer bottles were found inside the camp, police said, and the homeowners’ Yamaha 4-wheeler was missing.
They found it in a nearby swamp, police said.
Police arrested Chason E. Phillips, 17, of Plattsburgh; Jordan A. Bashaw, 17, of Morrisonville; Christopher J. Daniels Jr., 20, of Morrisonville; Morgan T. Chiras, 17, of Plattsburgh; Deanna M. Duprey, 17, of Plattsburgh and a 13-year-old juvenile.
Phillips was charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief, all felonies.
Phillips was arraigned in Peru Town Court and sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
Bashaw, already incarcerated in the Clinton County Jail on separate charges, was charged with four counts of second-degree burglary, State Police said.
Bashaw was arraigned in Saranac Town Court and returned to jail.
Daniels was charged with second-degree burglary. He was incarcerated in Clinton County Jail Friday.
Chiras and Duprey were each charged with second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor, and were released on appearance tickets returnable to Saranac Town Court.
The juvenile was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief and was issued a Family Court appearance ticket.
