PLATTSBURGH — A Morrisonville woman was charged with a felony after allegedly destroying an alcohol-monitoring anklet.
Legal Counsel at Clinton County Social Services filed a complaint with Plattsburgh City Police after the alcohol measuring device, which is issued and monitored through the Department of Probation, was found to be no longer working on May 11, 2012, said City Police Lt. Scott Beebie.
Social Services and the Clinton County District Attorney’s Office filed charges and an arrest warrant was issued for Carissa Secore, 26, Beebie said.
Secore’s information was entered into a state-wide computer database, as she had left the area, he said.
City Police arrested Carissa Secore, 26, in Syracuse on March 5 after Secore’s landlord contacted Syracuse Police regarding her, he said.
Syracuse police had found Secore’s warrant in the database, Beebie said.
Secore was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.
Secore was retrieved by City Police from Syracuse and arraigned in City Court before being sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
