PLATTSBURGH — Two men were charged with drug possession Friday evening.
At about 5:25 p.m., Gabriel C. Laramie, 35, of Chazy, and Gregory A. Zindler, Jr., 27, of Plattsburgh, got out of the vehicle during a traffic stop, refusing to comply with troopers, according to a State Police news release.
Laramie fled on foot and was apprehended with the help of Plattsburgh City Police, who responded to assist, the release said.
Laramie and Zindler were allegedly found to be in possession of approximately one gram of cocaine and a small quantity of marijuana.
Laramie was found to be operating with a suspended permit. He was charged with fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, a felony, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of marijuana and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. He was also ticketed for having tinted windows, unlicensed operation, unsafe turn, unauthorized stickers and failure to notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of an address change.
Zindler was charged with fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Both men were arraigned in the City of Plattsburgh Court. Laramie was remanded to Clinton County Jail with no bail, because of two prior felony convictions. Zindler was remanded to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash or $6,000 bond. Laramie and Zindler are to reappear in the City of Plattsburgh Court April 9 at 8:30 a.m.
